The New "My Systems & Peripherals" - Descriptions gone?
Please tell me I didn't lose all my descriptions over the migration to the new "My Products List"? I could've at least printed out the old format and transferred them manually. Now i have no idea who to associate with most of my saved systems.
Thanks, -Joe
P.S. My apologies if this isn't the correct forum - please point me in the right direction in that case.

I had the same problem of missing descriptions when I imported my old "My Systems" list, and complained via the Dell webpage feedback mechanism a few days ago. I received this reply today:
The descriptions were left off in error and will automatically be restored in a patch this Saturday, April 30.

Descriptions restored!
And so I feel like I do more than complain, thank you Dell for this tool which has proven invaluable to me in supporting your systems.

This is a users helping users with desktop hardware problems. We are not Dell employees. I have no idea what the "My Produts List" is so I can't direct you to a different forum section. We have a Software section but if this someone on a Dell site there's no forum section for that.

From Help on the Products List page--
My Products and Services is replacing My Systems & Peripherals and users can import their products by clicking on the Find and Add Product page. From the drop down box, select My Systems & Peripherals. Products added can be viewed on the My Products List page.
You still might have to add descriptions. My list had a couple of missing descriptions.

You lost your descriptions? I lost everything! The Dell support site migrated my data from "My Systems and Peripherals" to "My Products and Services". Then, the next time I went in, it said "You have no products or services. Do you want to enter them now." So all tags, all descriptions, all gone! Arggh!

That's good news. I just imported my systems into the new products and was disturbed that the descriptions were all gone. Too bad Dell didn't test this before rolling it out.

Agreed. Why do you do this dell? I love your desktops, I hate your laptops! I love your tech support including your easy to use website, but you never fail to disappoint me. Luckily, I don't have a business, because you would have just deleted all my clients.
