KM632 Keyboard - missing on screen volume control
Hi,
I recently purchased a Dell XPS 8500 Special Edition PC with Win 8 Pro and with a KM632 wireless keyboard. Everything seems to work as it should, except the on screen volume control is not loading at startup. If I unplug the USB transceiver from the USB port after startup and plug it back in, the onscreen volume control reappears and continues to work, even if the machine goes into hibernation and wakes up again. But if I do a power shut down, it will not reappear unless I unplug and reinstall the USB stub. I have checked the system config and it is in selective startup, and stays there even if I try to change it to Normal startup. I also have the Dell KM632 Wireless Keyboard Caps Lock Indicator installed and that seems to work fine.
Any ideas on what I am missing? Thanks for the help!

jollyfrothlic,
The User's Guide specifies that the keyboard is only supported in Windows XP/Vista/7/Linux Ubuntu. There is no Windows 8 support. So it appears that the onscreen issues are stemming from the inability to use the Windows 8 onscreen functions after a shutdown.
