Why a brand new U2412Mb has A00 revivion number Manufactured December 2012?
I just purchased a brand new U2412Mb monitor from Amazon Data Master LLC. However I found the monitor panel says it was manufacture December 2012
(not 2011), but the revision number is A00. Should it be greater than A03 or even A07 if it was really manufactured less than two month ago? What is the latest revision number at this time (Feb 4, 2013)? Is this a refurbished monitor? How can I check if it comes with 3-year Dell Genuine Warranty? Thanks.

Hi FireFox123,
All Dell monitors get a 3 year manufacturer warranty from the purchase date irrespective of the revision number. I request to send the date of purchase, First and Last name, Shipping address, phone number, email address along with serial number of the monitor through private message so that I can get the monitor registered with Dell and ensure correct warranty is updated for future service.
I have added you as a friend. Please accept my friend request by clicking on my name highlighted in blue and then click on “Friends” tab at the top and then click on “Request to Review” and finally click on “Accept” button. I am sending you a private message as well. Click on “Inbox” to respond to the message and provide system’s Service Tag and contact details so I may access your system records and check for further course of action. You could also click on Start Conversation to send a private message.

FireFox123,
Dell cannot know what revisions amazon has on their warehouse shelves or how long they have been there. This is always the danger of not buying new monitors directly from our website.

Hi Kiran,
Same deal here: bought the monitor from Data Master LLC on Feb 5th. It has a serial number, no service tag, and is model U2412Mb. It came totally packaged and sealed as new (I've bought many Dell monitors in my day, I'd spot a phony or refurb I think, lol). Dell Chat said contact the seller for a service tag#. Can't this be done by the serial number?
Thanks!
Paul

PaulieDC,
Only the 27" and larger monitors have service tag numbers. All other smaller monitors get a Dell order number attached to them when purchased from us.
The monitor PPID serial number is not tied to any Dell order number. They are put on the monitor by the manufacturer, not Dell.
Click on DELL-Kiran K username and private message him this information:
