Light leak of A17 R2 2015

I have a new Alienware 17 R2 (2015) this week, there is a TrueLife touch screen on it.

Yesterday I found a bright green light around both top left/right corner when the background changed to black.

It is NOT like the picture in this post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/light-leak-of-new-alienware-led-logo-below-display.769799/

It is about 0.3cm wide and 5cm length, it is very like the color when you press the screen, and yes, when I push the screen from back, it disappeared.

Does anyone owns the same model have similar problems?

Maybe could you send a picture of the screen so I can have a better idea of what is exactly the issue?

It is only clear with black background, I took 4 pictures from different angle, I have to turn off the light around, the noise is very high but the problem is clear.

My Alienware 17r2 that I have had about a month looks similar.  This does make it a little harder for

remote image processing that I do.

Our LCD manufacturing contract states that we do not "validate" our LCDs in a dark room. We validate our LCD backlight uniformity in labs with a minimum of 150 lux which is standard office lighting.

Thanks @ProPhotoga, It is very glad to know this is not my issue only.

Honestly, I don't use that area too much, not like you as an artist, mine usually display title bar and close button, which is in bright color.

I just want to let others know before buying, the screen of A17 is designed to be not perfect.

It is also noticeable by human eyes, I take two more pictures using SLR in daylight.

I don't understand what is 150lux or Dell's manufacturing contract standard.

I just feel this is the second worst screen I have ever used (Lenovo, ThinkPad, Asus, Acer, Apple 17, Apple 13, Apple 15) before. The most worst screen experience is 2 month ago I bought another Alienware 17 from Bestbuy and the screen stopped working in first a few days.

I firstly blame Bestbuy and they allowed me to return it because it is obviously issues inside screen. I  upgraded to TrueLife screen this time but still got nothing.

Now, I understand root causes are manufacturing standard, maybe you should consider change it soon. Don't letting them hurt your brand reputation.

Brent,

Fortunately I bought this for the mobile computing power not the screen as I mostly use a professional editing screen.

To Chris,  I have and can see this in even my office that has standard lighting.   It has nothing to do with the light in the room.  These screens have light leaks.  Alienware/Dell should just admit it and in some ways I guess they did as they quit selling the Adobe Photo Suite with these laptops.  As a longtime Dell/Alienware customer I really find your comment condescending from a customer aspect.

Thanks for your time.

That was not the intent. Just stating Dell policy.

I bought two Alienware 14. One of them suffering from the same issue and the technicians who came to my place confirmed that it is faulty. The bezel causes some pressure on the LCD and the light leaks. Without the bezel is fine. There is something with the structure of the lid.

I have already asked for the replacement and they still refusing to do so. I thought I bought the best machine in the market but it looks one of the two I bought is good.

Funny fact is Dell was suggesting me to change the mother board and graphic card to sole this issue!!!!
