Alienware m14x r2 headphone jacks no work after 2/16 windows10 update
Hey gang, hoping someone can help with this.
This morning i was surprised by the windows 10 massive update and other than this one issue the system is running fine.
But the headphone jacks are broke. no audio and no listing of headset option in playback devices.
I have searched for an updated driver, no luck, rolled back the driver, no luck, removed all the audio devices and re added , no luck.
the audio from the speakers works fine but nothing from any of the audio jacks.
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, we never validated this model on Windows 10. Did you attempt to install the Dell Windows 8.1 audio driver via compatibility mode?

Yes tried the soundblaster driver pack from the dell website. was unable to find another driver from creative directly.
Other than the headphone, headset jacks everything works fine. When i plug in the headphone or headset jacks, nothing happens. Interestingly enough, when i plug into a the mic jack, the mic enables in recording devices.

The only thing I can think of is to remove the Windows 10 updates one at a time trying to isolate the one that caused this.

Unfortunately, the update was a rather large update and did not appear to be in smaller parts. I will probably just live with a broken laptop until someone decides to support it. 2 months out of warranty support , figures.
I should be able to find some usb headphones or bluetooth headphones until the next update breaks that :)
thanks for your help, any more help is very welcome and appreciated
