AW2724DM, AWCC has stopped recognizing my games
Hello
I have a problem recently.
I use AWCC for my games and to configure my screen. (AW2724DM)
AWCC has stopped recognizing my games. No more games are displayed. When I try to manually add the game a message is displayed (Blocked application,,system-level and background services apps are unavailable)
I tried to repair windows without success. I stopped the program, uninstalled, deleted all files and registries, I reinstalled..I repaired. nothing still works!

I spent the entire afternoon chatting with Dell teams and their engineering team confirmeed that AWCC does not support games from gaming platforms like Steam. They say that it will be available very soon.

@DELL-Nat M
Thanks for the update and for working on this issue.
I do think it would have been helpful if the situation was acknowledged a bit earlier. Initially, a support agent told me it was a Windows problem and suggested resetting my entire system, which could have been avoided if we knew it was an app bug from the start.
Just wanted to share that feedback. I appreciate the team's efforts and look forward to the fix. Thanks again!

The AW2724DM Drivers & Downloads page shows AWCC 6.3.7.0 released back on July 9, 2024. Are you all saying that AWCC 6.3.7.0 was working then stopped working on September 13, 2024?
Have you tested the older version of AWCC 6.2.7.0 shown on the same page?

@DELL-Chris M "Are you all saying that AWCC 6.3.7.0 was working then stopped working on September 13, 2024?"
YES.
Note : Removing it and cleaning up AWCC by the method indicated by Dell, including multi restarts and installing and older version of the AWCC, does not resolve the issue. My R16 is about 10 days old, my game (only one) appeared for the first few days and then magically vanished. I have not installed any 3rd party software on this out of the box factory direct new build. I am not signed up to any beta programs and all AV including Defender were disabled for testing. There are no firewalls or third party security application attached to this device. ( there sure as heck will be in a few days but as of now this is a new fresh Alienware build)

I am having the exact same issue. No games appear in library and when you try to manually add a game, you get the "Blocked Application" message. I am on an Alienware M18R1 that I have had for ~8 months. AWCC has *ALWAYS* worked with steam games for as long as I have used it. Around September 09 , 2024, it stopped recognizing any games. This all seems to have started with the 1.21.0 system firmware update that Alienware Update/Support Assist installed on my system.
Now AWCC will not recognize any games, will not go into performance presets on a per-game basis, etc. This needs to be fixed asap, as this is one of the most vital parts of my M18R1. Reinstalling AWCC does not fix the issue. Rolling back to older versions does not fix the issue.
It seems to have all started eerily close to the 1.21.0 firmware update.
Check to see when and if you installed 1.21.0 firmware and if games disappearing was around that time. Firmware was released for me on September 9, 2024.

Just wanted to add to say that I am seeing the exact same error shown in the screens that @Err0xx posted. It was working fine a while back as well...

@DELL-Chris M Yes you are correct. For me I noticed it on 9/14/2024 when I went to play a game. My laptop is an Alienware X15 R2 and I use the AW2723DF monitor. But this AWCC installed game recognition issue isn't related to the monitor.
I uninstalled AWCC 6.3.7.0 and installed AWCC 7.2.7.0 but during the installation process it automatically upgrades/installs AWCC 6.3.7.0.
As a test, yesterday I uninstalled AWCC 6.3.7.0 and installed AWCC 5.2.8.0. AWCC 5.2.8.0 will not even fully launch. I have an open ticket with Dell Support and they requested I make this change. Will keep you posted on their recommended next resolution steps.
Another users speculated on the recent BIOS update being related. Two days after the AWCC game recognition issue, I saw the BIOS update for X15/X17 laptops. After the update there was no change in how AWCC performed.

Well, there was also this Windows update around that same time (9-11-24 for me). Whatever broke AWCC has to be common among all those with the issue. I know on this PC, I have not made any changes other than windows updates, alienware updates (firmware 1.21.0 and one minsc driver update), and 1 steam game install (Final Fantasy XVI). Nothing else has changed on this system, yet AWCC is still bjorked.
Did anyone else install the above Windows update around the same time that AWCC started messing up?
