Recently, Dell announced the launch of the Global Commercial Channels (GCC) group into Korea. Although Dell Korea has been working with channels for the last few years it is now officially part of GCC.
Dell Global Commercial Channel is an organization within Dell that focuses on the Commercial Channel go-to-market strategy. GCC dedicates resources to build and nurture Dell’s commercial channel ecosystem especially on advanced technology systems products within Dell’s portfolio. Within Dell’s Global organization are different teams managing channel sales, enablement, certification strategy, programs and infrastructure support. The launch of GCC in Korea brings the worldwide resources and infrastructure to the partners in Korea. This will further strengthen Dell’s commitment to the partners who have delivered quality solutions and services to Dell’s customers.
Kim Jong-Young, recently joined the team as the Korea GCC General Manager and he is tasked to continuously look at areas of expansion in terms of channel support and coverage for the partners, enablement and the organizational structure behind it.
In conjunction with the launch of GCC Korea, Dell has also announced a distribution agreement with DaewonCTS in Korea. Under the new partnership, Daewon will be able to provide faster service to its customers by holding a certain amount of inventory and it will also enable it to provide a more diverse portfolio to its reseller base.
In addressing our customers’ needs, Dell has identified partners who play different roles. The distributors provide the market and geographical coverage. They also provide availability of stocks to service the requirements of the resellers in the space they operate. In this model, we call it a 2nd tier model whereby the distributors resell to the resellers who in turn sells to the customers. Our engagement with our partners continues to evolve and we have added a distributor to work with us to expand our coverage and channel development effort in Korea.
Dell intends to increase customer satisfaction by providing convenient credit options and next-day shipping through its partner network. Therefore customers will be able to demand a variety of customized IT solutions through the extended distribution network as well as through existing channel partners. Dell Korea already has 80 domestic channel partners, and aims to expand its product and solution portfolios by consistently supplying customized products through the “PartnerDirect” Program.
