Late last year, Quest One Identity Manager, which is part of the Quest One Identity Solution, was named a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for User Administration and Provisioning. We are particularly proud of this accomplishment and believe it is rock-solid, third-party acknowledgement of the progress we have made and will continue to make in the Identity and Access Management space.
The Gartner Magic Quadrant is the culmination of research in a specific market, providing a wide-angle view of the relative positions of the market's vendors. By applying a graphical treatment and a uniform set of evaluation criteria, a Gartner Magic Quadrant quickly helps IT organizations digest how well technology providers are executing against their stated vision.
For those of you keeping score at home, we believe Quest One Identity Manager has made considerable strides over the last few years across Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for User Administration and Provisioning. We were a niche player in 2010, a challenger in 2011 and now a leader in 2012. The interesting thing about moving through the MQ as we have is that it is a testament to our ability to move faster than the competition. You see the competition is also progressing over time; yet, we continue to move faster through the MQ.
To recap, here’s what we have accomplished in the past year to enable us to earn this latest positioning. Since January 2011, we have integrated many of our modular solutions into Quest One Identity Manager – solutions such as Webthority, Password Manager, ActiveRoles Server, and Quick Connect. Additionally, we released a version of Quest One Identity Manager cleverly named the Quest One Identity Manager-Data Governance Edition which enables organizations to govern their unstructured data.
…and we are by no means finished. As part of Dell, we’re able to increase our investment and reach. And we’ve got a cavalcade of new releases on the horizon where we’ll extend cloud capabilities and integrate our auditing solutions with our Identity Manager platform. These integrations will enable decision makers to have even more context to the information associated with identities and entitlements —ultimately providing a more secure environment.
If you would like to see “identity management for the real world” and understand firsthand how our modular yet integrated approach to Identity and Access Management can solve your problems today and tomorrow, drop me a line or stop by and chat with us at the RSA Conference. We’ll be at Booth #2053.
