Exciting Dell-Intel AI Updates from Dell Technologies World

Dell PowerEdge XE9680 servers with Intel Gaudi 3 AI accelerators to be available in second half 2024.

At the Intel Vision conference earlier this year, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger announced the latest AI acceleration technology from Intel, the Gaudi 3 AI accelerator. Michael Dell joined Pat via livestream during Pat’s keynote to announce Dell Technologies will launch the Intel Gaudi 3 AI Accelerator on the Dell PowerEdge XE9680 server later this year.

Last week, at Dell Technologies World, Arthur Lewis, President of Infrastructure Solutions Group at Dell Technologies, reiterated this message in his keynote comments:

Dell plans to launch Gaudi 3 on the PowerEdge XE9680 in the second half of 2024. Before launch, customers can inquire for quotes with Dell and Dell partners as early as late June.

Since its launch last year, the Dell PowerEdge XE9680 server sets the standard for purpose-built AI and GenAI compute, with superior AI acceleration and diverse GPU options. The arrival of Gaudi 3 to Dell’s server lineup later this year enhances Dell and Intel’s partnership by addressing customer infrastructure needs, reducing TCO and easing deployment. This is accomplished through an open ecosystem featuring AI frameworks optimized for Dell and Gaudi 3, alongside scalable Ethernet-based AI fabrics.

Prior to Gaudi 3’s broad availability, Intel will add Dell PowerEdge XE9680 servers with Intel AI Accelerators in the Intel Developer Cloud, allowing select customers to test Intel AI solutions on Dell hardware before implementation in their data centers.
