We are excited to see the Dell Storage community converge in Boston—a city where some pretty revolutionary ideas were born. This week we were focused on shaking up the storage industry with some pretty revolutionary ideas of our own. We packed a year’s worth of news into a single week, including a number of Dell firsts designed to not only manage the growth of data, but designed to support business growth.
This week, we unveiled game-changing technologies focused on customer needs – advancing the Fluid Data architecture in every dimension by building shared capabilities across the portfolio. It takes a team effort to revolutionize the storage industry and technology partners like Xyratex are critical to our success.
Yesterday there were dozens of positive stories on our news and event. I want to set the record straight on one story that misrepresented the facts (it will soon be corrected), and reconfirm Xyratex is a key strategic partner for Dell across our storage portfolio. They work with us to support multiple product lines, and we continue to look for opportunities to work together and deliver the best possible outcomes for our customers. I can’t underscore enough the value Xyratex plays in bringing our Fluid Data architecture to market.
With multiple announcements across our EqualLogic, Compellent, PowerVault and AppAssure platforms, customers will have more choice and capability than ever before from the Fluid Data architecture. One of the highlights of the week was showing the end to end value of our solutions and demonstrating how storage, servers and networking are working better together across the data center.
While we are hard at work developing our own storage designs, we will also hold true to the design work of partners who have helped along the way. On behalf of the Dell team, I want to thank Xyratex for their continued partnership and thank all of our attendees for being part of Dell Storage Forum Boston in 2012. I’m looking forward to another successful event when the Dell Storage community comes together in San Jose in 2013!
