New VSPEX Packing a Powerful Punch with Hyperconsolidated VMAX3

EMC, the market leader in Proven Reference Architectures, is going BIG with the addition of the VMAX 100K to the VSPEX family. Each VSPEX is rigorously tested and delivered as a series of reference designs eliminating the challenges of planning, sizing and interoperability resulting in faster time to value. The inclusion of VMAX 100K provides customers greater scale, performance, availability and Hyperconsolidation. The VSPEX with VMAX 100K is a game changer with a brand new Architecture, Storage Operating System and unrivaled levels of TCO in its class.

The VSPEX channel program now provides EMC business partners reference architectures for VMAX with 100K providing them an EMC validated solution that delivers the operating environment their customers need to keep up with the data performance and uptime requirements of their mission critical applications.

Struggling to keep up with growing data demand sees IT organizations pushing legacy systems to their limits impacting the availability of mission critical data. Dated systems are inefficient, costly, challenging to manage and secure. VSPEX with VMAX 100K addresses these challenges head on, by providing customers flexible, scalable and easy to manage reference architectures that combines VMware virtualization, choice of compute and networking together with EMC data protection in a single system. VSPEX with VMAX 100K provides customers scale with up to 30% lower TCO and unrivaled 6×9’s application data availability http://www.emc.com/cloud/vspex/index.htm?vid=4201155119001.

VSPEX with VMAX 100K

This VSPEX reference architecture delivers channel economics to EMC VSPEX enabled business partners with rebates, discounts and tools enabling partners to deliver a solution to their customers to eliminate legacy infrastructure. VSPEX with VMAX 100K enables the consolidation of multiple tiers of storage into one efficient system that can host up to 2800 virtual machines made possible by the VMAX’s HYPERMAX OS. This is the first storage operating system with a true storage hypervisor built that delivers embedded data services and applications to reduce the CAPEX of IT sprawl and lowers the total OPEX required to deliver world class hybrid cloud services with 3x more performance that its predecessors.

This VSPEX packs serious power in a hyperconsolidated footprint. In addition to the VSPEX’s x86 Compute layer the VMAX 100K single engine has 48 CPU cores and 2TB of memory that’ll make light work of the most taxing workloads. VMAX³ features the world’s first and only Dynamic Virtual Matrix (DVM). DVM enables hundreds of CPU cores to be pooled and allocated on-demand to meet the performance requirements for dynamic mixed workloads and is architected for agility and efficiency at scale. How does being able to squeeze up to 9x more IOPs and up to 4X more TB per floor tile while costing up  to 45% less in power and cooling sound?

Do you have larger data mountains to climb? The VSPEX portfolio is not only going BIG with the addition of the VMAX³ today but true to the VSPEX mantra of Simple, Efficient and Flexible even more choices are available to conquer those mountains.  The VSPEX Private Cloud with XtremIO, and massive scale out NAS with EMC Isilon have also joined the portfolio ensuring 2015 is the year we Redefine IT.
