Earlier this year, Dell introduced our customers and partners to the DVS Simplified Appliance, which was created to remove the cost and complexity roadblocks associated with traditional desktop virtualization deployments. Today we’re excited to announce the availability of our latest DVS Simplified Appliance, now powered by Dell’s new 12th Generation PowerEdge R720 servers. The innovative, high-performance R720 allows up to 66% more users1 per appliance, creating an even greater value for customers and partners alike.
DVS Simplified is a simple, practical, and cost-effective VDI appliance that is ideal in environments without the kind of IT staff it typically takes to deploy desktop virtualization and in small or mid-sized environments that aren’t serviced by a large, central datacenter. The appliance integrates pre-configured Dell PowerEdge R720 servers with the latest version of Citrix VDI-in-a Box software factory installed and is easy to deploy, manage, and scale. It’s also cost-effective, with basic deployments projected to be under $500 per user. Dell channel partners can sell the DVS Simplified appliance as a fully integrated solution with all of the necessary software and Citrix licenses included. With the DVS Simplified Appliance, customers get all the benefits of VDI—streamlined desktop management, stronger security, increased agility, pervasive data… while providing the ultimate experience to end users via Citrix HDX technology.
Furthermore, combining the DVS Simplified Appliance with Dell Wyse thin or zero clients gives Dell PartnerDirect Partners a huge competitive advantage. Not only can partners offer their customers a secure, best of breed end-to-end solution that delivers the ultimate user experience, but they can procure all of the components needed through a single source- Dell- ensuring they receive all of the advantages that a PartnerDirect reseller is entitled to by doing so.
