I’m excited to announce that Dell has been named a top 50 company for diversity and inclusion for the second year in a row by DiversityInc. Over the past few years, Dell has been investing in our diversity-management efforts, and it’s gratifying to see others acknowledge the dedication we have put into creating a welcoming workplace for all team members.
Two-thirds of our workforce live outside the United States, making the meaning and importance of diversity and being inclusive exceedingly important for business success. We know that it directly affects our bottom line: our team members must reflect our diverse customer base, and diversity fosters a more innovative work environment where each individual can do their best work in support of customers.
Specifically, we have made great strides to dramatically increase participation in our nine employee resource groups and enhance the value of these groups for our team members and to our business. Our ERGS are vitally important to our focus on talent, in creating an inclusive culture and to our efforts to be an employer of choice. We also understand the importance of working with a diverse supply chain that represents our local markets, and we are always looking for diverse companies that meet Dell’s procurement specifications and standards of excellence. Three years ago, we committed $3 billion in annual supply chain spending with diverse suppliers, and we are continuing to further that commitment and cultivate our relationships with different suppliers across the globe.
As we continue to push forward with our diversity and inclusion priorities, we are embracing, respecting, honoring, recognizing, and ultimately, leveraging the differences we innately possess to build a better community, workplace and world.
