Since we introduced the new line of workstations in April, they have garnered  accolades from top analysts, press, product reviewers, customers and partners from around the world. The majority of feedback has centered on Dell’s dedication to the workstation market, the innovative and functional new design and powerful performance. The video below shows initial impressions of the new portfolio from our launch event.

We’re not the only ones excited about the new Dell Precision workstations – here’s what some key analysts and press are saying:

  • “Dell pulled out all the stops for the introduction of its new workstations in the Precision line, and it was more than a floor show. Dell is exhibiting new commitment and a fierce determination to take back a major share of the workstation market.” – Staff, John Peddie Research
  • “Last week’s release of Dell’s new Precision line is a case in point: It reflects a tight coupling between the engineers who will use the product and the design team that created it.” – Rob Enderle, IT Business Edge
  • “This is arguably the biggest redesign in the history of Dell Precision workstations. The entire chassis has been developed from scratch, driven by a key requirement for increased serviceability, though functionality, styling, improved airflow and reduced fan noise also had a major influence.” – Develop 3D
  • “The ability of Dell Inc’s new Precision workstations to be rack-mounted may not seem like a big deal, but workstation clustering allowed the team at visual effects studio Pixomondo to keep acclaimed director Martin Scorsese happy during the production of his first 3D film, Hugo.” – Jeff Jedras, it World Canada
  •  “Dell has successfully transformed from PC producer to end-to-end IT and solution provider and won the leading position of both shipment and sales of workstations at the end of 2011. There are a lot of innovations built into Dell new Precision workstations engineered by many professionals and it was a pleasure to interview Dell global workstation directors, Kirk Schell,  Efrain H. Rovira, and Ken Musgrave to hear an update of Dell innovations, strategy and insights of PC market.” – Wang Yang, e-works

There are also a few reviewers that were lucky enough to get their hands on the products and test them before they were available to the public. Their feedback to date has been overwhelmingly positive. For example, Dustin Sklavos of Anandtech said “…Dell has done very right by their customers with the new Precision towers. The T3600, at least in our review configuration, is as fast as Dell wants you to believe. They’ve also made the systems as easy to diagnose and service as humanly possible. We have a competing system from HP in house that we’ll be reviewing soon, but the bar has been set.” You can read the full review by AnandTech and previews by CG Channel and Videomaker with their full reviews coming soon.

And our innovative efforts don’t stop there: we recently updated our Dell Precision R5500 rack workstation to be the first four-GPU platform to receive Citrix XenServer GPU pass-through certification. This means for the first time, four concurrent users can access a single workstation from virtually anywhere, helping customers to improve ROI through increased access and better utilization of workstation assets.

We are excited to get these game-changing new products in the hands of many more people and are looking forward to hearing your feedback!
