Latitude E6400 Software Privacy Filter, Transition to LEDs, Premium Panels

A while back, we introduced a software privacy screen option for Latitude E6400 customers who want an alternative to traditional  laptop privacy filters.

Customers who purchase this option can either use Dell’s ControlPoint software or press Fn + E on the keyboard to toggle the feature on and off. Enabling it will make the screen unreadable at an angle, so private data stays that way. I figured showing it in a vlog made sense, so I spent a few minutes to ask Joni Carswell from the Latitude product team to share a demo.

She also talks about our transition to backlit LED displays. We began offering these as an option on the XPS M1330 back in June of last year. Since then, we’ve made backlit LED displays available on a wider range of mobile products. By the end of the year, we expect about 75% of many of our Latitude E family notebooks and Dell Precision mobile workstations.

With that, let’s roll the video.
