Installing an accelerator card

Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system.
If installing a new expansion card, unpack it and prepare the card for installation.
NOTE:For instructions, see the documentation accompanying the card.
Install the air shroud.

Pull and lift to open the expansion card retention latch lock.
If installed, remove the filler bracket. For information about how to remove filler bracket, see the removing a filler bracket section in the Installing an expansion card topic.
Hold the card by the edges, align with the connector on the expansion card riser and press until the card is seated in place.

Ensure to close the latch for the accelerator card.

Connect the FPGA cable to the PIB and the expansion card riser.
NOTE:The A16 GPU and the V100S GPU power cables are different from the FPGA cable. For A16 or V100S GPU card, use the cable with part number 23V9W in order to avoid power failure.
