Removing the power-button board

CAUTION:The information in this section is intended for authorized service technicians only.

Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
Remove the nanoSIM card.
Remove the base cover.
Remove the battery.
Remove the memory module.
Remove the M.2 2230 solid-state drive.
Remove the wireless card.
Remove the WWAN card.
Remove the fan.
Remove the heat sink.
Remove the speakers.
Remove the assembly inner frame.
Remove the system board.
NOTE:The system board can be removed and installed with the heat sink attached to simplify the procedure and preserve the thermal bond.

The following images indicate the location of the power-button board and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.

Remove the two (M2x2.5) screws that secure the power-button board to the palm-rest assembly.
Lift the power-button board, along with its cable, off the palm-rest assembly.
