Removing the fan
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the nanoSIM card.
- Remove the base cover.

Steps
- Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
- Remove the two screws (M2x5) that secure the fan to the palm-rest assembly.
- Lift the fan off the palm-rest assembly.
