Installing the 4 x 2.5-inch rear drive module
Prerequisites
- Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions.
- Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
- If required, remove the air shroud.
- Remove the drives.
- If installed, remove the BOSS-N1 module.
- Disconnect the cables from the rear drive module.
NOTE:Refer to cable routing section for more information.
Steps
- Align and lower the rear drive module with the guide on the system.
- Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, tighten the captive screws that secure the rear drive module into the system.

Next steps
- Connect and route all the cables to the rear drive module.
- Install the drives.
- If removed, install the BOSS-N1 module.
- If removed, install the air shroud.
- Follow the procedure listed in After working inside your system.
