Installing a cooling fan
Prerequisites
- Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
- Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system..
- Remove the air shroud.
- If installed, remove the fan blank.
Steps
- Lower the fan into the fan cage.
- Press the release tabs on the fan cable connector and connect the cable connector to the connector on the system board.NOTE:Route the cable properly when installing, to prevent the cable from being pinched or crimped.
