Installing the expansion card riser
Prerequisites
- Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
- Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system.
- Remove the air shroud.
- Install the expansion card in the expansion card riser.
Steps
- If applicable, remove the expansion card riser filler bracket by performing the following steps:
- Open the blue expansion card retention latch lock.
- Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, remove the screw securing the expansion card riser filler to the system board.
- Slide the expansion card riser filler bracket up and out of the system.

- Holding the blue touch points on the expansion card riser, align the expansion card with the connector on the system board.
- Lower the expansion card riser into place until the expansion card riser is fully seated with the connector on the system board.
- Close the blue expansion card retention latch.
