Procedure

  1. Open the latch, and disconnect the power-button board cable from the system board.
  2. Peel the tape adhering the display cable to the system board.
  3. Open the latch, and disconnect the display cable from the system board. Image: Disconnecting the power-button board cable and display cable from the system board
  4. Open the latch, and disconnect the hard-drive cable from the system board.
  5. Open the latch, and disconnect the I/O-board cable from the system board.
  6. Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
  7. Open the latch, and disconnect the touch-pad cable from the system board.
  8. Remove the screw (M2x3) that secures the system board to the palm-rest assembly.
  9. Gently release the ports on the system board from the slots and carefully turn the system board over. Image: Disconnecting the cables connected to the system board
  10. Peel the tape that secures the power-adapter port cable to the system board.
  11. Disconnect the power-adapter port cable from the system board.
