Installing the heatsink assembly-discrete
Prerequisites
About this task
The figure indicates the location of the heatsink and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
- Align the screw hole on the heatsink with the screw hole on the heatsink fan.
- Replace the single (M2x3) screw to secure the heatsink fan to the heatsink.
- Locate the heatsink assembly slot on your computer.
- Align and place the heatsink assembly into the slot.
- Replace the two (M2x3) screws to secure the fan section on the heatsink assembly to the system board.NOTE Replace the screws as per the callout on the heatsink.
- Replace the six (M2x3) screws to secure the heatsink assembly to the system board.
- Connect the heatsink fan cable to the connector on the system board.
