Removing the heatsink assembly
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
- Remove the battery.
About this task
The figure indicates the location of the heatsink and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Locate the heatsink assembly on your computer.
- Remove the four (M2x3) captive screws that secure the heatsink assembly to the computer.
- Lift the heatsink assembly out of the computer.
NOTE There will be thermal grease beneath the heatsink.
