Removing the system top cover (back)
Prerequisites
CAUTION: Do not operate the system without the system cover. This can result in overheating and cause component damage.
- Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.
- Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals.
- Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and disconnect the peripherals.
- Remove the system from the rack.
- Keep the Phillips #1 screwdriver ready.
Steps
- Remove the screws securing the system top cover to the chassis.
- Slide the system top cover toward the back of the system.
- Hold the cover on both sides, and lift the
cover away from the system.
