Procedure

  1. Peel the tape that secures the heat-sink shield to the system board.
    NOTE The tape on the heat-sink shield is necessary to reduce the noise for the system. The tape can be reused and has to be adhered when the heat-sink shield is installed.
  2. Using a plastic scribe, release the heat-sink shield from the slots on the system board.
  3. Lift the heat-sink shield off the system board.

  4. In reverse sequential order (as indicated on the heat sink), remove the four screws (M2x3) that secure the heat sink to the system board.
  5. Remove the screw (M2x3) that secures the heat sink to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  6. Lift the heat sink off the system board.
