Installing the battery

CAUTION:The information in this installation section is intended for authorized service technicians only.

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation process.

The following image indicates the location of the battery and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.

Align and place the battery edge at an angle so that the tabs on the battery fit into the hooks on the palm-rest assembly.
Replace the six screws (M1.6x3.5) that secure the battery to the palm-rest assembly.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Slide the battery-connector bracket to the left of the battery connector. Ensure that the hook at the bottom of the bracket fits into the side of the system board.
Align the bracket to the lines marked on the system board.
Tighten the captive screw (M1.6x2) ensuring that the positioning stud on the system board fits into the opening on the bracket.
