Zoom Meetings for VDI

Zoom Meetings for VDI is the Unified Communications solution that is offered by Zoom for virtual deployments. It supports enterprise video conferencing and screen sharing on the virtual desktops. Zoom offloads media processing from the virtual desktop server to the thin client. All audio and video signals are routed directly between the endpoints. You can use the Zoom application to make and receive calls in the VDI session.

ThinOS 9.1.4234 supports HTTP Proxy for anonymous authentication. Configure the HTTP Proxy server and Proxy Application list as ZOOM to make the Zoom optimization function for Citrix work through the proxy server.

NOTE:From Zoom package version 5.8.4, ThinOS supports Virtual Background.

Zoom Meetings for VDI consists of the following components:

Zoom VDI Client
Zoom Media Plug-in

Zoom VDI Client is the host installer that runs on the VDI desktop or server. Zoom Media Plugin is the thin client package that runs on the thin client.

NOTE:The VDI Client version must not be older than the plug-in version for Zoom optimization to work on ThinOS. For the Zoom Horizon VDI package to work in a session, it must be uninstalled and reinstalled.

From Zoom 5.10.2 version, the following features updates are available:

Remote camera control—Supports far-end camera control.
VDI Statistics tab improvements—More information about the status indication for missing or incompatible VDI plugins are added to the Statistics dialog in the VDI tab. You can view the information about when and why a session is running in fallback mode.
