Licensing your VxRail

Your VxRail comes with VMware vSphere and vSAN pre-installed. However, you must supply vSphere and vSAN licenses to activate the appliance.

Your vSphere licenses can be obtained in one of two ways:

• By leveraging existing available vSphere licenses (for example, from existing ELAs)
• By acquiring new vSphere licenses from one of the following channels:
  • Dell EMC direct OEM
  • Dell EMC brokerage services
  • VMware direct
  • Partner (resellers only)

Your vSAN licenses can be obtained in one of two ways:

• By leveraging existing available vSAN licenses from existing ELAs
• By acquiring new vSAN licenses directly from Dell EMC.

Work with your sales representative or reseller to ensure that you have the correct type and quantity of vSphere and vSAN licenses required for your environment.
