Enable integrated service connectivity

Service connectivity provides secure, automated access between Dell Support and your VxRail. You must activate an integrated service connectivity with or without the support connectivity gateway to enable features in VxRail Manager.

About this task

With service connectivity, you can provide usage data to the Dell Customer Experience Improvement program. You decide about the level of data that is collected about the VxRail environment. The types of data that are collected include environmental usage, performance, capacity, and configuration information. Dell Technologies uses this information to improve your VxRail experience.

Steps

  1. From the VMware vSphere Web Client, click the Inventory icon.
  2. Select a VxRail cluster and click the Configure tab.
  3. Expand VxRail and click Support.
  4. On the Support page, under Connectivity, if the status is disabled, click Enable.
  5. In the Enable Connectivity dialog box, do the following:
    1. On the Telemetry Legal Notice page, read the Telemetry Legal Notice and select the I have read and accept this notification option, and then click Next.
    2. On the Network Connection page, select a connection type for your cluster:
      • If your product connects directly to Dell Technologies Technical Support team, select Connect Directly, and do the following:
        1. If you have an IPv4/IPv6 dual stack network environment, select a Connectivity IP Version.
        2. From the Proxy Settings menu, select a proxy setting:
          • No Proxy: If you do not use a proxy server.
          • Connect to New Proxy: Enter the proxy IP address, proxy port, proxy username and password.
          • Connect to Global Proxy: If you want to use the proxy that is configured in VxRail Cluster Configure - Network.
        3. Click Test Network Connection and click Next.
      • If your product connects to a secure connect gateway server, click Connect via Gateway Server, and perform the following:
        1. If you have an IPv4/IPv6 dual stack network environment, select a Connectivity IP Version.
        2. In the Gateway IP Address 1 window, enter up to three gateway IP addresses.

      4. In the PIN box, enter the PIN and click Next.
If your VxRail cluster is newly purchased and deployed, the Access Key page is not displayed. If your VxRail cluster is LCM from legacy releases, the Access Key page is displayed.
