Networking

When you deploy a satellite node, some basic networking knowledge is required.

The following network requirements apply:

• VMware vSAN networks are not supported on VxRail satellite nodes.
• VxRail satellite nodes depend on local disk drives and a local PERC controller for primary storage resources for VMs.
• VMware vSphere vMotion networks for VM mobility purposes are not supported on VxRail satellite nodes.
• VxRail Manager cannot discover satellite nodes using the internal management network. Assign a management IP address to a VxRail satellite node for VxRail Manager to be able to discover the address.
