Dell VxRail Deployment Planning Guide

Configure NTP

The VxRail cluster relies on a global timing service, such as NTP to synchronize clock settings between VxRail components.

An NTP server is not required, but is recommended. Provide the NTP server during initial configuration so that the VMware vCenter Server is automatically configured to use it. If you do not provide an NTP server, VxRail uses the time that is set on the first VMware ESXi host in the cluster.

The time zone is configured on VMware vCenter Server and each VMware ESXi host during VxRail initial configuration.
