Dell VxRail VD-4520c Hardware Requirements and Specifications

Configurations and features

The VxRail VD-4520c is a 2U half-width, single processor compute sled that supports:
  • One Third Generation Intel Xeon D Scalable processor with up to 16 cores
  • Four DDR4 DIMM slots
  • Up to 4 x M.2 NVMe SSDs on PCIe Add-in card and up to 4 x M.2 NVMe SSDs on M.2 riser module.

Do not install GPUs, network cards, or other PCIe devices on your system that are not validated and tested by Dell Technologies.

CAUTION:Damage caused by an unauthorized or invalid hardware installation will null and void the warranty.

8 Sled handle
9 System ID button is available on the front and back. Press System ID to identify a system in the rack, reset iDRAC, and access BIOS using the step-through mode. When pressed, the System ID LED in the back panel blinks until the front or rear button is pressed again. Press the System ID to switch between on and off.

If the server stops responding during POST, press and hold System ID for more than five seconds to enter the BIOS progress mode.

To reset the iDRAC (if not disabled on the iDRAC setup page by pressing F2 during system boot), press and hold the System ID button for more than 15 seconds.

10 Sled power button
NOTE:When VD-4510c is installed in the VD-4000r or VD-4000z chassis, the power button LED indicator status may be delayed for up to two minutes while the sled is initializing. The power button LED will start slowly blinking to indicate the system is performing the power on sequence after this time period.
11 iDRAC Direct port (Micro-AB USB) System ID button is available on the front and back. Press System ID to identify a system in the rack, reset iDRAC, and access BIOS using the step-through mode. When pressed, the System ID LED in the back panel blinks until the front or rear button is pressed again. Press the System ID to switch between on and off.

13 Bezel pogo pin connector is a Spring-loaded, pressure sensitive sensor that indicates when replacement is needed.
