Dell PowerFlex Appliance with PowerFlex 4.x Administration Guide

Configure replication networks

Replication networks flex-rep1 and flex-rep2 must be added to each node at all participating sites.

Prerequisites

Verify what MTU size will be used for the replication networks.

Steps

  1. SSH to the PowerFlex storage-only node and type cd /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/.
  2. Use vi to create network bonds.
    Use the following examples to create the replication network bonds.
    Example for flex-rep1 161: vi ifcfg-bond0.161
    BOOTPROTO=none
    ONBOOT=yes
    HOTPLUG=yes
    TYPE=Bond
    VLAN=yes
    DEVICE=bond0.161
    IPADDR=172.16.1.10
    NETMASK=255.255.255.0
    GATEWAY=172.16.1.1
    MTU=1500
    BONDING_OPTS=“miimon=100 mode=802.3ad xmit_hash_policy=layer3+4 lacp_rate=fast”
    PEERDNS=no
    NM_CONTROLLED=no

    Example for flex-rep2 162: vi ifcfg-bond1.162
    BOOTPROTO=none
    ONBOOT=yes
    HOTPLUG=yes
    TYPE=Bond
    VLAN=yes
    DEVICE=bond1.162
    IPADDR=172.16.2.10
    NETMASK=255.255.255.0
    GATEWAY=172.16.2.1
    MTU=1500
    BONDING_OPTS=“miimon=100 mode=802.3ad xmit_hash_policy=layer3+4 lacp_rate=fast”
    PEERDNS=no
    NM_CONTROLLED=no
