Dell PowerFlex Appliance with PowerFlex 4.x Administration Guide

Add a permanent static route for replication external networks

Use this task to create a permanent route.

Steps

  1. Go to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts and create a file called route-interface and type:
    #touch /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-eth5
    #touch /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-eth6
  2. Edit each file and add the appropriate network information.
For example, 10.0.10.0/23 via 10.0.30.1, where 10.0.10.0/23 is the network address and prefix length of the remote or destination network. The IP address 10.0.30.1 is the gateway address leading to the remote network.

    Sample file

    /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-eth5
    10.0.10.0/23 via 10.0.30.1
    /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-eth6
    10.0.20.0/23 via 10.0.40.1
  3. Reboot the SVM, type: #reboot.
  4. Ensure all the changes are persistent after reboot.
  5. Once SVM has come up, ensure all the interfaces are configured properly, type: #ifconfig or #ip a.
  6. Verify the new route added to the system, type: #netstat -rn.
