Increase the vCPU count

Increase the vCPU count according to the SDR requirement.

About this task

The physical core requirement is two sockets with ten cores each (vCPU * per NUMA domain cannot exceed physical cores).

Consider the following examples for the vCPU count:
  • Total number of vCPUs for an MG pool: 8 (SDS)+8 (SDR)+2 (MDM/TB) + 2(CloudLink) = 20 vCPUs.
  • Total number of vCPUs for an FG pool: 10 (SDS)+10 (SDR)+2 (MDM/TB) + 2(CloudLink) = 24 vCPUs

Steps

  1. Log in to VMware vCenter vSphere client.
  2. Right-click the virtual machine that you want to change, and click Edit Settings.
  3. Increase the vCPU count according to the SDR requirement.
  4. Click OK.
