Dell PowerFlex Appliance with PowerFlex 4.x Administration Guide

Add replication networks to PowerFlex Manager

Use this procedure to define the network for SDR external communication.

Steps

  1. Log in to PowerFlex Manager.
  2. Click Settings > Networking > Networks.
  3. Click Define.
  4. In the Name field, enter the name of the network. Optionally, in the Description field, enter a description for the network.
  5. From the Network Type drop-down menu, select PowerFlex Replication.
  6. In the VLAN ID field, enter a VLAN ID.
  7. Select the Configure Static IP Address Ranges check box, and do the following:
    1. In the Subnet box, enter the IP address for the subnet. The subnet is used to support static routes for data and replication networks.
    2. In the Subnet Mask box, enter the subnet mask.
NOTE:Do not define the gateway when you define the network for PowerFlex replication and PowerFlex data.
    3. Optionally, in the Primary DNS and Secondary DNS fields, enter the IP addresses of primary DNS and secondary DNS.
    4. Optionally, in the DNS Suffix field, enter the DNS suffix to append to the hostname resolution.
    5. To add an IP address range, click Add IP Address Range. In the row, specify a starting and ending IP address for the range.
Repeat this step to add IP address ranges based on the requirement. For example, you can use one range for flex-rep1-<vlanid> network and the second range for flex-rep2-<vlanid> network.
  8. Click Save.
