Unlink Snapshot

Learn how to unlink a snapshot from the host.

Prerequisites

  • The snapshot must be linked to a host.

Steps

  1. Log in to the VMware vSphere Client.
  2. Click Menu > Storage.
  3. Select the VMFS datastore, click Configure > Dell VSI > Storage.
  4. Click Snapshots tab, the Snapshots tab displays the list of snapshots that are created on the datastore.
  5. Select the snapshot and click > to expand and view the snapshot details.
  6. Click the Links tab and select the link you want to unlink. Click the X (Unlink) icon.
    The Unlink Snapshots dialog box is displayed.
  7. Click UNLINK.
    The selected snapshot is unlinked from all hosts. The value of the property Linked is changed to No when all the links are unlinked .
    NOTE When you unlink the last available snapshot, the Unlink Snapshots dialog box closes and the Snapshots tab reloads.
    NOTE The progress can be tracked in the Tasks tab.
