Refresh Datastore using Datastore

Use the procedure in this topic to refresh a datastore using datastore.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure at least one clone of the datastore or the datastore that is cloned and its original datastore exists in PowerStore.

Steps

  1. Log in to the VMware vSphere Client.
  2. Click Menu > Storage.
  3. Right-click a datastore, select Dell VSI > Refresh Datastore.
    The Refresh Using Related Datastore wizard is displayed.
  4. In Select datastore to refresh from, select a datastore from the list of all related datastores.
  5. Select the checkbox Take a backup snapshot of the datastore being refreshed, it will create a snapshot on the target datastore automatically.
    The target datastore will be re-signatured and the host is rescanned to mount the refreshed volume.
