Monitoring Capacity for PowerStore VMFS Datastore

Use the procedure in this topic to monitor the capacity metric for PowerStore VMFS datastore.

1. Log in to the VMware vSphere Client.
2. Click Menu > Storage.
3. Select the VMFS datastore , click Monitor > Dell VSI > Storage.
   In the Capacity tab, it displays the Usage and Historical Usage widgets.

   • The Usage widget displays the used capacity and free capacity available. It also displays data reduction related metrics.

     The widget also provides you with the following options:

     • MODIFY CAPACITY
     • RUN SPACE RECLAMATION
     • REFRESH USAGE INFO - You can click this option to refresh the widget, it refreshes the widget with latest information. There is also a time stamp to display the date and time of the latest information collected.
   • The Historical Usage widget displays the Provisioned and Used metrics. You can also select the time range from the drop down, select any time range between last 24 hours to last 2 years.

     You can select or deselect the capacity metrics to customize your view.

     This widget also provides an option to download the performance chart in different image formats. Click the menu option in the widget to select the image format you wish to download.
