Map Host to a VMFS Datastore for Dell PowerStore Metro

Use the procedure in this topic to map hosts to a VMFS datastore for Dell PowerStore metro.

Steps

  1. Log in to the VMware vSphere Client.
  2. Click Menu > Storage.
  3. Select the datastore, click Configure > Dell VSI > Storage.
    The datastore details are displayed.
  4. To map hosts to the datastore, go to the Host Mappings tab and click MAP HOSTS drop down.
    Select the metro system from the drop down. The Map Hosts dialog box is displayed.
    NOTE The MAP HOSTS drop down is available only when VMFS datastore has a metro configured.
  5. Select the protocol type and select the hosts that you want to be mapped to the VMFS datastore and click MAP.
    The selected hosts are successfully mapped to the VMFS datastore.
    NOTE Only the host that is already added in PowerStore and is in Connected state is listed for selection.
