Join Active Directory Domain in vSphere Client

Use the procedure in this topic to join Active Directory Domain in vSphere Client.

Steps

  1. Log in to VMware vSphere Client.
  2. Click Administration > Single Sign On > Configuration.
    The Configuration page is displayed.
  3. Under the Identity Provider tab, click Active Directory Domain and select the node. Click JOIN AD.
    The Join Active Directory Domain dialog box is displayed.
  4. Enter the details of the domain and click JOIN.
    NOTE You must reboot the node to apply the changes.
  5. After reboot, click Administration > Single Sign On > Configuration.
    Under the Identity Provider tab, click Identify Sources and click ADD. Select the identify source type as Active Directory(Integrated Windows Authentication) and type the domain joined, click ADD.
  6. Click Administration > Single Sign On > Users and Groups.
    The Users and Groups page is displayed.
  7. Select the Domain from drop down list.
    You can verify whether the domain joined is functioning properly and AD users are retrieved correctly.
