Edit NFS Datastore for PowerMax

Use the procedure in this topic to edit NFS datastore for PowerMax storage system.

Steps

  1. Log in to the VMware vSphere Client.
  2. Click Menu > Storage.
  3. Select a NFS datastore, click Configure > Dell VSI > Storage.
    The Storage Details tab displays details of the selected datastore.

    You can edit the following:

    • Storage Resource
    • Thresholds
    • Data Reduction
    • NFS Event Publishing
    • Capacity
  4. To edit the Storage Resource, click EDIT in the panel.
    The Edit Storage Resource dialog box is displayed. You can modify the service level from the drop-down and click SAVE.

    The different service levels available are:

    • Bronze
    • Diamond
    • Gold
    • Optimized
    • Platinum
    • Silver
  5. To edit the Thresholds, click EDIT in the panel.
    The Edit Thresholds dialog box is displayed. You can modify to set the threshold on (provides option to set custom threshold values) or off (set to default threshold values) using the toggle switch. Click SAVE.
  6. To edit the Data Reduction, click EDIT in the panel.
    The Edit Data Reduction dialog box is displayed. You can modify the data reduction by selecting the checkbox to enable or disable. Click SAVE.
  7. To edit the NFS Event Publishing, click EDIT in the panel.
    The Edit NFS Event Publishing dialog box is displayed.

    You can modify the NFS Event Publishing by selecting the checkbox to enable or disable. Click SAVE.

  8. To edit the Capacity, click EDIT in the panel.
    You can modify the datastore capacity and click SAVE.
