Create NFS Datastores on Unity Storage System

Use the procedure in this topic to create NFS datastores on Unity storage system.

1. Log in to the VMware vSphere Client.
2. Click Menu > Hosts and Clusters.
3. Right-click a datacenter, cluster, folder, or host and select Dell VSI > Create Datastore.
   The Create Datastore on Dell Storage dialog box is displayed.
4. To create the datastore, select the Type of datastore as NFS and select the Version from the drop-down. Click NEXT.
5. In the Datastore Settings step, enter the Name of the datastore and verify the location of the datastore. Click NEXT.
6. In the Storage System Selection step, select the Unity storage system from the list of registered storage systems. Click NEXT.
7. In the Storage Settings step, select the storage settings and click NEXT.
   NOTE The NAS servers available for selection in the drop-down are the NAS servers that user has been granted access to. If the user has not been granted access to a NAS server, an error banner is displayed.
8. In the Host Access step, select the hosts that you want to access the datastore, and select the access mode.
   NOTE You can set the access mode for each host individually or the same for all selected hosts. The default access mode must be set to No Access to prevent other hosts from accessing the datastore.
9. In the Snapshots step, you can select the checkbox Enable Automatic Snapshot Creation to configure automatic snapshot creation.
   Select the Snapshot Schedule.

   NOTE VSI does not support creation of Snapshot Schedule.
10. In the Ready to Complete step, verify the settings before creating the datastore and click FINISH.
