Create a Thin Clone of Datastore

Use the procedure in this topic to create a thin clone of the VMFS datastore on Unity storage system.

Steps

  1. Log in to the VMware vSphere Client.
  2. Click Menu > Storage.
  3. Right-click a VMFS datastore, select Dell VSI > Create Thin Clone.
    The Thin Clone of Datastore wizard is displayed.
  4. Enter the Name and Desciption. In Host Access, select the host from the list of hosts displayed to mount the clone.
    Select the Host IO Limits and Snapshot Schedule.
  5. Click CLONE to create the thin clone of the selected datastore.
    The selected host will be rescanned to mount the clone.
