Apply Test Failover Settings on Protected Storage

Use the procedure in this topic to apply test failover settings on protected storage.

Prerequisites

  • You must have RecoverPoint system registered.
NOTE This function is supported only for RecoverPoint storage systems.

Steps

  1. Log in to VMware vSphere Client.
  2. Click Menu > Dell VSI.
  3. Click Storage Systems on the left side.
    The list of registered storage systems are displayed.
  4. Click the RecoverPoint or PowerStore storage system name link.
    The details of the selected storage system is displayed.
  5. Click the Protection tab drop-down and click SRM Recovery Points.
  6. To view the Dell protected storage, select Manage by Dell Protected Storage button.
    The details of Dell protected storage for the selected storage system is displayed.
    NOTE You can customize the view of the data-grid and select the desired columns to be displayed.

    Click the Show or hide columns icon located at the bottom left of protection group list. Select the checkbox to display or deselect the checkbox to hide the columns in the Details tab.

    NOTE If you wish to see all the consistency groups related to the registered RecoverPoint or RecoverPoint storage system, disable the toggle button Display only SRM related Protected Storage.
  7. Select a protected storage that you want to apply the test failover settings. Click TEST FAILOVER SETTINGS button.
    The Test Failover Settings dialog box is displayed.
    NOTE You can also select multiple protected storage to apply the test failover settings.
  8. Select Allowed/Not Allowed using the drop down to apply the setting Test failover when RP clusters are disconnected to the selected protected storage. Click SAVE.
    NOTE Normal SRM Test requires a new bookmark to be created, which cannot be done while network between sites is down.

    In order to run SRM Test while network is down, you must set this setting to Allowed.

    NOTE The SAVE button is enable only if you select a setting different to current setting.
