Use the procedure in this topic to add users/groups and grant them access to storage.
Prerequisites
A vCenter user who registers a storage system, becomes the owner and controls access to the storage system and its storage.
vCenter users who have privileges to create datastores can create datastores on the storage systems they have been granted access to.
A vCenter user can view storage system details that are associated with a datastore without being granted access.
The user group must contain members of the same domain as group.
The user must be a immediate member of the group given access to.
Steps
Log in to VMware vSphere Client.
Click
Menu > Dell VSI.
Click
Storage Access on the left side. The
Storage Access page is displayed. It displays the vCenter administrator name and list of all users/groups that have access to the
Dell storage systems.
NOTE The vCenter administrator name is displayed even if the administrator has not registered any storage systems or been granted access to them.
Click
+ icon, the
Add Access dialog box is displayed.
It displays all the available vCenter users/groups created on the vCenter server client.
To grant access to the users/groups, select the vCenter user/group and the storage system.
NOTE
You can use the search option to search for a particular user/group.
Only the storage systems that are registered by you are listed for selection.
You can select multiples users/groups by selecting the checkbox.
Click
ADD.
The users/groups are added and displayed on the
Storage Access page.
