Upgrade SDC on Hosts

Use the procedure in this topic to upgrade SDC on hosts associated with PowerFlex storage system.

1. Log in to the VMware vSphere Client.
2. Click Menu > Dell VSI.
3. Click Storage Systems on the left side.
   The Storage Systems page displays the registered storage systems.
4. Click the PowerFlex storage system name to view the details.
5. To view the hosts associated with PowerFlex storage system, click the Hosts tab.
   The Hosts tab displays the hosts associated with the storage system.
6. Select the hosts that have the SDC Status as Installed and MDM Status as Connected.
7. Click More Actions > Upgrade SDC on Host(s).
   The Upgrade SDC on Host(s) dialog box is displayed.
8. On the Upgrade SDC on Host(s) dialog box, select the hosts that you want to upgrade.
   The following message is displayed:

   Upgrading the SDC can cause issues with other components outside of the SDC if not handled properly. Please acknowledge and take responsibility to follow the PowerFlex upgrade guide to address other components outside the SDC before upgrading.

   Acknowledge the message by selecting the checkbox, and specify the path to the SDC zip file.

   NOTE The zip file must be placed on the host beforehand.
9. Click UPGRADE to start the upgrade operation.
   Once the operation is completed, the hosts tab is refreshed. The SDC Version column displays both old and new versions of SDC.

   NOTE The Required Action column displays the message Reboot Host. You must reboot the host manually to complete the operation.
