Synchronize Volume Name for PowerStore

Use the procedure in this topic to sync the volume name with the VMFS datastore name for PowerStore storage system.

Prerequisites

If you have renamed the VMFS datastore in the vCenter then the name of the backing volume on PowerStore is not synchronized.
NOTE The SYNCHRONIZE VOLUME NAME button is enabled only if the VMFS datastore name and volume name on PowerStore are not in sync.

Steps

  1. Log in to the VMware vSphere Client.
  2. Click Menu > Storage.
  3. Select the VMFS datastore that you want to sync, click Configure > Dell VSI > Storage.
The storage details for the VMFS datastore are displayed in the Storage Details tab.
  4. In the General panel, click SYNCHRONIZE VOLUME NAME button.
The Synchronize Volume Name dialog box is displayed.
  5. Click SYNC.
The volume name will be renamed with the VMFS datastore name to be synchronized.
