Restore VM using VMFS Datastore Snapshot
Use the procedure in this topic to restore a VM from PowerStore VMFS datastore snapshot.
Steps
- Log in to the VMware vSphere Client.
- Click .

Right-click the VM you want to restore, select
.
The Restore VM using Datastore snapshot dialog box is displayed.NOTE
- When you right-click a VM that is not on PowerStore, an error message Virtual machine restore is not available is displayed.
- When you right-click a VM that has RDM residing on it, an error message Only supports restore on the VM where NO RDM is residing is displayed.

Select a snapshot from the list, give the backup snapshot name or keep the default name and click
RESTORE.
You can also restore VM from the datastore snapshots tab, click .
- Select the snapshot from the Datastore Snapshots tab and click RESTORE VM. The Restore VM using Datastore snapshot dialog box is displayed.
- Click RESTORE.
NOTE Restore VM operation is supported only for a VM where no RDM is residing.
